Red, White and Blue

It's tradition that every 4th, we go to my mom's for breakfast in the backyard. We all contribute something, but mostly my parents, do all the cooking and provide all the yummy food. And this year was no exception. We had red, white and blue waffles (strawberries, homemade blueberry syrup, and whipped cream.....uh-huh -- yumm!!!), eggs, homemade granola, bacon, sausage, and lots of fresh fruit. It was 'delish'. (Thanks mom and dad. You're the best :) After breakfast and some "hang-time" with the fam...we came home and crashed. Josh had only 2 hours of sleep before we went to my mom's, (he worked graveyards) and I only had a few hours myself....but not because I was working. I was naughty and stayed up all night to read a book. (thanks shan!) After our cat nap, Josh's Aunt Judy, Uncle Kim (visiting from Tucson) and cousin Dara and her husband Jim, came over and hung out for a little while. We all went to Eden's for a BBQ and then off to watch Lagoon's fireworks. It was a pretty fun night with some great company. The kids of course had fun...they always have fun when they aren't stuck at home with mom with "nothing to do". Belle had a great time getting to know Judy, Kim, Dara and Jim and was snuggling up to Dara by the end of the night, saying "woworks!" (fireworks). She is a stinkin' cute little thing. It was a great day! Hope your 4th provided good memories too!
