Scottsdale

More summer updates: (I'm not very good at this blog thing!)

My sister Eden and her family invited me and "mine" to join them at their timeshare. They changed it to Scottsdale, so we could just meet them there and we had so much fun.

There are only 2 things to do when you are in the Arizona heat: Stay inside, blast the A/C, and try not to be bored. OR....go swimming. And swimming we did!!! The kids have turned into some serious fish overnight. Brady, who used to be a "wall-er" is now diving and swimming in the deep end. He even goes down slides by himself, which is HUGE, because he used to cry and the mere mention of going down...even with mom or dad. Belle of course is fearless...with her floaties of course, but it will be pretty soon that they will come off and she will be joining her brothers. And Zach is a natural. I think we are going to sign him up for the swim team here. Michael Phelps here we come!

Belle and Gracie - our niece

My brother -in-law Scott celebrated his birthday while we were there and we got his cake at 'Nothing Bundt Cakes'. Oh, my gosh....I love this place. We got the carrot cake, which is divine, and his favorite but my favorite is the red velvet. Go try it...you'll be glad you did and you won't care about the calories!!!

We also drove up to Flagstaff to hang out for the day. I love this place. It's like Utah in Arizona. "sigh". While we were there, we stopped in at Salsa Brava, which was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. And boy was it ever delicious!!! I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but this place was so yummy.

Yum, Yum, Yum!

Up in the mountains.

After Scottsdale, we were able to keep Gracie with us for 3 weeks. The kids had so much fun with her at our house and she was such a good girl!
Thanks Eden, Scott and Gracie for a fun time! We love you guys!!

We love Flag, too! Did you check out the giant telescope? It's seriously worth keeping the kids up late at night for. Another treasure is Payson. They put on the BEST fireworks show that we went to every July to escape the heat. It's a little town up in the mountains NE of Mesa - very sweet, small-town 4th of July. We stayed at the Days Inn every year and it was nice. The kids loved visiting the Hatchery, Tonto Natural Bridge (beautiful easy hike down to a waterfall), the church carnival at the park before fireworks, and visiting the Oldest One-Room Schoolhouse. Give it a try next summer! ;)
